Dr. R. Stuart Weeks
At the SENTA Medical Clinic. Dr. Weeks specializes in diseases of the thyroid, parathyroids, major salivary glands. nose and sinuses, as well as benign and malignant diseases of the skin of the head and neck. Additionally, he is an active participant in the Skull Base Surgery Program and continues to do a full range of medical and surgical treatment involving the complete scope of general otolaryngologic diseases and conditions.
As the senior member of the specialty group that has evolved into the SENTA Medical Clinic, Dr. Weeks has continued to advance his medical education through seminars and postgraduate courses, specifically including the use of various lasers. endoscopic nose. sinus and skull base procedures and sleep apnea surgery.
Russell Stuart Weeks was born in 1940 in Greensville County, VA & grew up in that same southeastern comer of the state. His chemistry undergraduate degree was obtained in 3 years at the University of Richmond, in Richmond, VA, followed by medical school at the Medical College of Virginia. His internship was in Baltimore, MD, split equally between Johns Hopkins University Hospitals & Clinics and the Baltimore City Hospitals & Clinics. He completed in 1970 his residency in otolaryngology-head & neck surgery was at the University of Chicago.
In July, 1970. Dr Weeks was assigned as Director of the Residency Training Program at Naval Hospital. San Diego. where he served on active duty upto 1972. During that time he was responsible for the didactic education. as well as the clinical supervision of 8 otolaryngology residents annually.
In 1972, Dr. Weeks joined Dr. Morley Barsky & practiced in association with Dr. Barsky for 20 years, during which time he became experienced in the entire scope of ear, nose & throat medicine & surgery. After Dr. Barsky's retirement, he was joined by Dr. Mansfield in 1993. The evolution of SENTA Clinic & the Center for Skull Base Surgery gradually progressed into the outstanding clinical/academic center that it represents today.
Dr. Weeks is board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology (Head and Neck Surgery), member of California Medical Association and of the SD Conty Medical Society, and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and the San Diego Academy of Otolaryngology.

Interests
Dr. Weeks is proud of the fact that he is also an Eagle Scout. He is honored to he a member of MENSA and you even can amuse yourself by answering this 30-minute test. He is an avid Alpine skier and is passionate about flyfishing.
